The Auberge Inn hostel is located in Providence Bay, steps from the longest sandy beach on Manitoulin Island on the shores of Lake Huron (The Great Lakes). Manitoulin Island is a unique region of Canada where the pace is slower, where the fast food chains are nowhere to be seen, where small business thrives and mom and pop shops are king! A real sense of community! In operation since 2010, the hostel offers accommodations for single travellers, couples and families in this three-bedroom century home with high ceilings, lots of natural sunlight and wood flooring throughout. There is a dorm room with three custom made cedar bunk beds and matching lockers, a private room with a double bed and a family room with a queen bed and children’s bunk bed. The home has a large living room, a spacious country kitchen, laundry/utility room, front enclosed porch/entrance and two bathrooms, one recently renovated. It has a large backyard with clothes line, wooden deck, garden, BBQ and fire pit for you and your guests to enjoy.
The hostel has been in operation on the Manitoulin Island for the past 4 years and is featured in the Lonely Planet Guide, Moon Guide and Le Petit Futé travel guides. It is the top ranked on Trip Advisor Reviews for Manitoulin Island. The Auberge has also been featured in the GEO magazine (French edition of National Geographic), in the local and regional medias including the National Post travel pages.
