Staff or Work Trade Opportunity

Our community inspired hostel (25 beds) is tailored to travelers visiting Alaska to explore it’s glaciers, mountains, and backcountry. This position is ideal for people who love the outdoors and meeting travelers from around the world. Hostel staff and the owner are outdoor enthusiasts and happy to share their knowledge and experience with you. Our work schedule (3-4 days per week) allows staff and volunteers plenty of time to explore Alaska on their days off.

Responsibilities for the Hostel Staff position include:
- Good interpersonal skills, enjoys socializing with guests, answering questions, etc.
- Registering guests on arrival and over the phone.
- Housekeeping duties including cleaning the hostel and preparing beds.
- Sharing advice on local hikes, restaurants, and nightlife.
- Renting out hiking gear, bicycles, and use of our sensory deprivation float tank.
- Benefits: housing included; no rent or utilities. Breakfast included.

Location: Anchorage, walking distance to cafes, restaurants, bars, and live music.

Requirements for Volunteer/Work Exchange:

- Housekeeping includes cleaning the hostel, changing beds, helping guests with questions and greeting them on arrival.
- 5 hrs per day (3 to 4 days per week). At least a 2 week commitment required.

* For paid staff positions: you need to already have a work visa or be a US citizen. We are unable to provide a work visa if you do not already have one.
