We have an amazing work and trade opportunity for you!
Work as a night receptionist in fun and relaxed environment. For compensation receive a free place to live in one of the most amazing cities in the world!
There are 2 positions that are available. If the calendar is marked Yellow then only one position is available. If it is marked Red then both positions are filled. Preferably you can speak English and minimum basic level Portuguese. If you cannot speak Portuguese you can apply but we advise you to start learning the basics - it will help you at the hostel and also getting around Brazil. This is a medium to long-term stay opportunity. We favor travelers staying a minimum of 3 MONTHS or more. If you are only in Rio for a week or two need not apply - but you are totally welcome to come to the hostel as a guest! (Preferably solo travelers, we have bunk accommodations and prefer very sociable people that enjoy mingling with the other guests).
Living in a hostel means hostel living! You will live in the staff quarters separate from the hostel. Here you have a hammock, couch, comfortable bunk bed with real mattresses, closets and all the amenities to make you feel at home. The bathroom is shared with the hostel. There are 5 showers and 4 bathrooms in our home. In addition there is a fully-furnished kitchen, Patio, Living room and Computer room. Our hostel is located around the corner from the supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, several restaurants. We are also walking distance to Flamengo beach, Lapa,

2) DAY RECEPTIONIST
This job is a LONG-TERM PAID position (no accommodations).
We have 3 (Day-and-Evening) Receptionists positions that are REQUIRED to speak Intermediate - Advanced level Portuguese and English. Social, outgoing and self-motivated people are needed to check guests into the hostel, do introduction maps of Rio, manage sales items and manage/maintain the hostel. These positions are long-term so they may not always be open, but you never know when we will need a new person to fill this coveted position. Experience working in a hostel and knowledge of Rio de Janeiro is a big PLUS.
**Expect 5 month minimum for this position (preferably more). We expect a serious commitment to your time here - short term travelers or people unsure of your schedule need not apply.
