RAD Hostel Assistant - Seasonal positions (Volunteer)
Start Date: Immediate
Description: This position is a great opportunity for a hostel enthusiast who wants to experience working in a welcoming and inclusive hostel in central Colorado Springs, just minutes from the best recreational activities and cultural attractions in the Pikes Peak Region of the Rocky Mountains. Come make life-long friends with people from all over the world who are committed to creating a RAD experience for all of our guests.
Responsibilities include any of the following:
Front desk - checking guests in; answering emails, phone calls, & in person inquiries
Giving tours of the hostel
Greeting and socializing with guests
Cleaning guest rooms/bathrooms and indoor & outdoor common areas
Inspecting rooms to ensure cleanliness standards prior to checkins
Laundry
Posting on social media
Planning &/or hosting on and off site activities such as hiking trips, bar crawls, BBQ's, kayaking, SUP boarding, Karaoke parties, etc
Preparing &/or hosting breakfast
Assisting management in other areas as needed
Requirements:
21 years or older (occasional exceptions)
Must be able to commit to at least two months
Ideal candidates are:
Sociable, Enthusiastic and Fun
Good listeners/communicators
Welcoming of people from all cultures and backgrounds
Able to work well under pressure and successfully handle difficult situations
Team players
Self-motivated

Outdoor activity enthusiasts
What We Expect:
One 12 hour shift OR two 6 hour shifts each week
3 hours planning and/or hosting a guest activity each week
What We Provide:
Free lodging + wifi in staff quarters
Free laundry and laundry supplies
Free use of bikes & scooters
Free breakfast- coffee, tea, milk, non dairy milk, fruit, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal, bread, granola bars, pancakes, eggs
Free meals during hostel events (BBQ’s, family style meals, and others)
Free hostel activities
All other hostel amenities available to guests

A Bit About Us:
In September 2018, the ColoRADo Adventure Hostel started welcoming adventurers, travelers, students, and anyone eager to explore all the beauty Colorado Springs has to offer. We're less than 15 minutes from downtown and surrounded by countless hiking and biking trails. We have a variety of private and shared rooms, 2 common kitchens, dining area, 24 hour lounge and backyard with hammocks, games and fire pit. Our days and nights are filled with people sharing stories, laughing, cooking food together, planning trips, singing karaoke, cooking s'mores around the bonfire, and cheering for each other on game nights.
A Bit About Colorado Springs:
Colorado Springs has a great blend of nature experiences (Garden of the Gods, the Incline & Pikes Peak), a thriving arts & culture scene (so many craft breweries, yum), and a variety of nightlife and music venues (we're so ready for outdoor summer concerts, go away Covid). We're about an hour south of Denver, an hour and a half south of Boulder, and a little over 2 hours from some of the best ski resorts in Colorado - Breckenridge, Keystone, Winter Park, and others.
