Receptionist and all around Amazing Person for a climbing Hostel in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain)
We are a small hostel that feels more like a family home than a hotel. All of us have ongoing and direct contact with our guests. In fact, sharing good times with our visitors is one of our core values.
We are looking for a dynamic, decisive person with excellent social skills. If you are a person who is personable and enjoys creating and participating in a lively environment, you’ll fit right in! Do you enjoy chatting at any time of the day? Playing a quick game of cards? Sitting around a bonfire? Then come join us!
Our hostel caters to rock-climbers from all over the world. As such, an essential requirement for this position is competence as a climber. You don’t have to be a strong climber, by any means, but climbing must be something you enjoy. In addition, it is important than you can climb without supervision. That is, you must be an “autonomous” climber.
It is not essential that you have worked in this capacity before but experience in customer service or directly with the public is highly valued.
You must have a strong command of English and knowledge of a second or third language is a plus.
Basic knowledge of computer systems is necessary.
Responsibilities:
This position is perfect for a person who enjoys a wide range of tasks. All of the following require attention on a regular basis:
• Welcoming guests
• Collecting information from guests in person and by phone
• Check-in and check-out
• Managing reservations using our custom system
• Supervising laundry services
• Changing linens and making beds
Daily cleaning including:
• guest rooms
• kitchen (throughout the day and each night so it is ready for breakfast)
• Keeping kitchen, closets, and office organized
• Gardening and taking care of our fresh fruits and vegetables
• Preparing lunch for staff
Hours:
- 38’5 hours per week | Opening hours: 9:00 - 14:00 and 17:30 - 21:00
