Sous Chef Position/Waiter/Kitchen Help - Fig Cafe Stari Grad, Hvar
We are looking for a motivated, skilled, young chef that is a few years into their career and looking to develop further in a fun and innovative restaurant kitchen. We are also looking for Wait staff and Kitchen help, thereby there are also positions available that require less experience, just a hard working attitude.
With the success of our restaurant "Fig Cafe Bar" in Hvar town, Croatia (rated #2 restaurant in the whole Split-Dalmatia County), we have opened our second location in Stari Grad which is an equally beautiful and growing tourist hotspot on the sunny island of Hvar.

Job Description
- High quality food prep undertaken in a professional environment
- Inventory management
- learning new/unique menu
- Cleaning service area/maintaining kitchen during shift
- Executing opening and closing duties depending upon shifts
The responsibilities for the waiters/kitchen help are less demanding but still require a strong level of professionalism, proactive attitude and communication skills.
We strongly support a good work-life balance at Fig and strive to ensure that you feel both adequately fulfilled with your work and your personal life outside of it. Each employee is capped at 9hrs a day, coupled with rotating schedules allowing for a mix of morning and afternoon shift work. By doing so we expect strong adherence to punctuality, professionalism and attentive detail to your work when on shift.
Renumeration/Benefits
- Registered employee (including benefits/health insurance)
- Accommodation paid for by the company for the duration of the contract period
- 70% of tips to wait staff and 30% to the kitchen
- 1 Meal and 2 Drink Allowance per day
- Competitive Industry wage (Negotiable)
We are ONLY looking for EU citizens as it is too difficult to secure working visas for people residing in different countries. The positions must be filled immediately and require a commitment until the end of September.
