Mayan is a very quiet hostel with a privileged location only a few steps from the ADO bus station, the city centre and a few meters from the main bars and restaurants in downtown.
Definitely not a party hostel, however sales for the discos of the hotel zone and for different tours around the peninsula are performed.
Mayan is characterized by its rustic concept and mostly our visitors choose us precisely for this rustic and mayan concept.
The position available at the moment consists in taking care of the reception (check ins and checks outs; tours’ and clubs’ sales), cleaning and organizing rooms as so as common areas.
This is an exchange type of job. The staff members get breakfast and lunch, laundry service and accommodation in a dormitory. If the employment relationship is excellent, there is a possibility of staying in a private room or apartment outside of the hostel. The hostel also provides 50% of the commissions (in cash) of all the sales made by the person, for tours, discos, bars and restaurants. The staff is also allowed to go to the tours and clubs for free.
Speaking some Spanish is not required, but it makes things easier. Speaking good English is necessary.
