Hostel Volunteering in the Scottish Highlands 2016

The Smugglers Hostel is a lovely, small community run hostel in the village of Tomintoul, in the Cairngorm National Park. We are currently looking for trustworthy, sociable, hardworking and flexible volunteers with good spoken English for the 2016 season. The work will involve helping to clean the hostel, and greeting and checking in our guests. Our volunteers can join us anytime from April to September and preferably stay at least one month, but longer may be possible. We ask for about 20 hours work a week spread over 4 to 5 days. This work will involve weekends and some evenings and above all you need to be flexible as every day is different! You would have free days each week to explore our beautiful surroundings and pursue your own interests. Outdoor activity opportunities are quite wonderful in this part of the highlands and wildlife is on our doorstep, as is the stunning landscape of the Cairngorm Mountains.
In return, you will be provided with a bed in a small staff room, your own locker and free Wi-Fi. There is a large kitchen and communal lounge for you to make use of. There is also the opportunity for you to get involved with local events and make new friends. Please note. There is no payment with this volunteering position.
