Disappointed in your social media efforts? Overwhelmed by all the ‘expert advice’ about how to build your brand, and grow your business using social media platforms?
You’re not alone.
Well, this is the first in a series of tips which will help guide you on a path to social media success. Follow these tips and you’ll be off to a good start.
It’s okay to be a Jack of all trades, but you must be a Master of One. Each of the tons of social media platforms has its advantages. But they also have different audiences, different algorithms, different rules for platform success, etc. So you need to start with one. Get a handle on it, and then incorporate other platforms into your social strategy.
Our advice is to always start with the platform with the most eyes on it and who have the most money to spend. For now, that’s Facebook. (Pro Tip: Ignore the noise from the “experts” and start here.)
Q: I have a website. Why do I need Facebook?
A: Your website is where people go to find out about your business, book reservations, etc. Facebook (and other social media) is where people go to find out if you’re real. If your website looks great, but you haven’t posted on social media in 13 months, people move on.
Q: What are the basics of a company Facebook page?
A: 1. “Verify” your page as quickly as possible. 2. Make sure your banner and related images are all mobile friendly. 3. Complete the “About” section as thoroughly as possible. 4. Add a “Call Now” button so interested parties can call your business without having to look up the number. And 5. Choose your service category(ies) wisely.
There’s SO MUCH MORE to know. And we’ll be here to provide it.
