The newly promoted Lazy Monkey Hostel is sister to the famous Drunken Monkey Hostel, which has been number one rated on Hostelworld and Tripadvisor for the last four years running in Zadar. The Lazy Monkey is our latest little gem, set in the same easy-going surroundings of Arbanasi. This lovely hacienda styled property overlooks the distant Velebit mountain range and from our large outdoor terrace, guests can enjoy a glorious sunrise (if you're still awake or an early riser!).

The Lazy Monkey is located only 4 minutes walk from the Drunken Monkey, 6 minutes walk to the main bus station, and a beautiful 30 to 40 minute stroll to the old city gates along the coast. For those monkeys with more energy, the old town can also be reached by foot in 20 minutes. The brand new ferry port is also located only 5 minutes drive away, taking you to all the nearby islands. The local bus stop for the old town is opposite the hostel, or if you prefer, taxi's are extremely cheap to and from Zadar's charming centre.

Our surroundings in this area of town are quite frankly beyond compare in Zadar. With fantastic swimming spots along the Kolovare waterfront, the best daytime bars, cliff jumping and cycling if you're feeling active, or leafy sleepy shades if you're not; from where you can experience the most beautiful sunset in the world. With all of this on your doorstep; you're in a special place..

If you're looking for accommodation in the city centre, we would like to advise you that there are other closer hostels available, and we suggest you explore those options first. This decision depends on what you are looking for. You cannot get the kind of facilities on offer at our hostels within the old city centre. We believe our hostels are in the best possible location. Being a lazy or drunken monkey, isn't to everyone's taste or requirement, and we would like you to take this into consideration before you book with us. As of this year we now offer free shuttle service into the Old town twice a day, as well as a pick up at the city gates at everyday!
