Very excited to be here! My current situation is this...I'm (overly) motivated to start my hostel. I quit my job (for a few reasons) and am fully focused on executing on my hostel idea in California. I'm about ankle deep in my business plan right now and have a lot more to do, but I've made some really good strides in the past week!
So here's my sitch...I have a psuedo skeleton of my business plan constructed now (thanks for the guidance to our wiki amongst other resources). I'm at the point now where I am doing market analysis, which I've found to be quite a daunting task. I don't know much about the resources out there that would provide me with the most relevant information.
Anyone have any insight into where I should go for this info? Small Business Association, national census bureau, County planning dept? I'm targeting Santa Cruz, CA.

Small Business Association, national census bureau, County planning dept?
I would say all three of these are good choices, talk the city about what stats they might have and any local/state/ferderal government tourism organizations (I'm not sure what these are in the States but I'm sure they exist)
