Google Apps for Business at Hostels?

Are there any hostels here that use Google Apps for Business to manage things like email, documents, file sharing, and calendars?

At the moment, 10 users are free, or there are $50/year/employee and $10/month plans:
http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/pricing.html

So it appears that a hostel with 50 employees would pay $2,500 per year for their internal network software, calendaring, and email, including the software maintenance.

I know at least one hostel that does that and likes it. Is there anyone else? Would you recommend it or not?

I think that is quite expensive, personally. $2500 would buy you a decent server with Windows Small Business Server installed. The maintenance would be minimal. What does make running your own systems expensive are the software support licencing costs, but if you are a small business there isn't a need to pay $100 a month for support from MS.

But I do believe cloud offerings are good for a lot of businesses, and I would recommend to any small business to use a cloud offering to reduce their IT overheads. You will be amazed at what companies offer for free for small businesses.
