Introduce Yourself
Hi everybody!
Lets introduce myself! I am Nicky, 31 years old, student Profession Oriented Tourism and Recreation at NHTV University of Applied Sciences. My course is Manager Recreational Business.
My aim is to open my own hostel after I have finished this course. As part of my internship I have worked at Base Backpackers Queenstown this year. Also I have assisted the several managers with the opening of the new Base Wanaka hostel. A great work- and learning experience which will be usefull in the future.
It is good to get feedback from colleaugues so this is why I signed up for this forum / site.
Everyday is a schoolday and I believe in a better way!
A hostel and everthing that goes with it (service) is never perfect and can always be improved.
At the end we are all colleaugues moving business across.

As I am studying in Breda and there is only 1 "hostel" (charging 30 EURO for a room) here I am looking at opening a hostel overhere..
Started some research now; possibilities, potential guests from Antwerp, The Hague maybe even Amsterdam..
Use this research to pass my course as well as for myself..
A great challenge.. ! Also have the opportunity to go back to New Zealand.. work overthere! Know that Base Backpackers would like to expand in the future also.. More hostels in NZ, Fiji .. worldwide..

I didn't know anything about Breda, but I looked it up. Elvis Presely's manager was from there? :)

I might be able to help you a bit. I tried to open a hostel in Breda last year(2010). I can tell you about the pros and cons and hassel with rules etc. Maybe we can even work together.
