Happy couple from the UK and Estonia!

Hey everyone!

My name is Dan and my partner is Jelena.

I've been on and off following hostelmanagement for a few years but never actually signed up and got involved with the forum, however now we are planning to open up a hostel in the near future so though now is the best time!

I have experience as a hostel receptionist, hostel bartender, reception supervisor at a few very large hostels in Barcelona and also a manager of 3 smaller hostels in Barcelona also. We have both recently been travelling in search of an opportunity to build.

After many years of backpacking combined, we know what we want. More recently we ended up in Port Barton, Palawan in the Philippines, where we have been for a very short time managing a hostel here, of which my brother is one of the owners. Now looking long term we believe this place to be a great up coming location to start something ourselves.

We have started a business plan, made various connections in the area, done some maths and researched the surrounding areas on this Island and trends.

Our hope from joining this forum is to learn, share, and potentially partner up with investors, hostel owners and like minded backpackers!
