Hello from Oslo

After chit chatting with Josh on Twitter for at least a year or so now, I decided to take the plunge and join his forums :) I'm Sam, and I am one of the founders of Travellerspoint, which I'm sure a few of you have seen come by in the HW booking lists.

My main reason for joining up here now is that I've joined the honourable ranks of the 'hostel owners association'! Together with some friends from Norway (where I live) and Argentina, we've started a hostel in Buenos Aires... To be 100% correct, it's not really what I'd consider a hostel, as it is primarily intended for long termers, but I think most would. One of the partners sends groups of students to BA for about 6 months of the year, so the building has been somewhat done up to cater for that. Speaking of 'doing up'; what a job that is!! We bought the building about 20 months ago and have more or less stripped the entire thing to redo pretty much everything.

It sleeps 40 comfortably in approximately 500 sqm of rooms (it's actually more as in some rooms the ceiling is so high we've built in a 'second floor' which stretches half way across the room). There's a 50-60sqm kitchen/dining area on the roof, with another 100-150 as open roof terrace.

I wanted to join and say hi, as well as ask some general budgeting related questions, but I'll do that in a separate thread. I've been reading heaps of the other threads here today, and there's really a wealth of knowledge being shared. Man, isn't the internet a beautiful thing!
