hey everyone. I've been reading posts here for quite a bit now, and there's this crazy idea starting to form in my head that i'm slowly getting pretty excited about : start a hostel in my beautiful hometown Quebec City.
I've traveled a bit around Europe in the last 3 years and stayed in hostel, but that is as far as my experience goes. From what i've red here, i'm thinking it could be a good idea to work in hostels to learn before i make any move.
So i'm going to start off with a few questions for you guys : given that i have no experience at all, what is the best way to find jobs in hostels in exchange of a bed and maybe some food ? Should i try to email some places before, or show up for a few nights, get to know the people/hostel and then ask ?
Is such hostel work is only possible to find in high season or that can work in low season also ? (say autumn in central/eastern europe)

Email your CV to a few hostels and let them know that you are planning on opening a hostel in Canada. That will let them know you're interested in leaning how to run hostels -- enthusiastic hostel managers want enthusiastic hostel employees :)
