Hi there! I have enjoyed reading the endless amounts of information. It makes the planning so interesting! My husband and I are researching the possibility of opening one in the next year to year and a half. We feel there is definitely a niche here in our city!

Is the hostel planned to be in the centre of the city? Was there a couple of years back and checked out the Alamo and the River Grande walk. It was a very good place for at least the day.

That is our intention - the city is developing other sections of the river in downtown as well. The tricky part is finding the right location at the right price! San Antonio is also central to some very nice outdoor attractions such as river tubing, kayaking, and great hiking/biking parks. Eventually we would like to start offering excursions to these places. One of our favorite hostels is in Flagstaff, AZ, and they offered excursions to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, etc. And for those not interested in any of San Antonio, we are least on the route from New Orleans to Los Angeles by train and would make a great stopover point. We have just begun our business plan so I'm trying to research all the possibilities at this point. Maybe in 1-2 years you can come visit again and have a nice hostel to stay in!

Wow I had no idea that San Antonio had so much to offer when it came to being outdoors! Are there many music festivals there as well?
