Welcome to the site :)
I've been reading a lot about Costa Rica lately, but I've never been there. It looks like an amazing place...
Hi all!
Just a quick intro, I currently live in SLC Utah, have traveled and stayed at only a small handfull of hostels, but have enjoyed every night.
I used to own a cycling website, bikeforums.net, sold it last year and decided to move to Costa Rica. My wife and I have been talking about verious ways we could run an eco-lodge on our land. We have 10 acres inside a 300 acre tree-reforestation project. We are in the middle of nowhere, next to a national park, 30 minutes away from the nearest paved road.
I'd like to open up a eco-hostel / lodge in a few years, once we get to be part of the community down there.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can about operations! I'm glad to have found this forum, it has already answered dozens of questions I have had floating around in my head.

Thanks for the great site!
Costa Rica is beautiful. My wife and I went on a 2 week long backpacking trip for our honeymoon just about a year ago. We have been back twice sense then, totaly enchanted by the culture and wildlife found there.
We have a good friend who does tree reforestation down there, he made us an offer on some land that we could not refuse! As soon as snowboarding season is over, we plan on living down there full time.
Heres what the patio of our hostel will look out to:
Our plan is to have sleeping for 20 or so, 10 in shared quarters, and then 5 private cabinas, each sleeping two.
Did I mention the wild life?
