so small update, we decided to just start calling it a hostel anyways, so now we are in fact running 15 Rose Hostel & Suites (http://www.15roseave.com)
I've been working on the website and most of the general operations as my partner takes care of the financials and other things that he understands. That's how we work, I do what he doesn't get, he does what I don't get, works out great.
So I wanted to say hi again, from the world famous 15 Rose Hostel & Suites http://www.15roseave.com

Do you offer dorm beds? I didn't see any here:

If you don't offer dorms, I think you will confuse travelers if you call it a "hostel".

Not at the moment, we only have privates. The privates are quite nice, with a private sink in each, and the private bathrooms have antique tubs, it's a really unique hostel for the area.
We're looking to adding a few dorm rooms in the future though, keep checking up to see what we got going on.

I think if you call it a "hostel" when it doesn't have dorm beds, you risk confusing travelers. It isn't the price that makes a hostel a hostel, it's the shared accommodation/facilities. IMHO, a semi-communal property with private rooms but without dorm beds might be called a "guesthouse" or "backpackers hotel".
There is a 12-page discussion about it here:

It looks like a great building in a perfect location. Why not just put bunk beds in a couple rooms? :)

Believe me, we know what a hostel is, and our grand scheme you won't even believe, just check us out in about 5 years, and you'll see what I mean.
Why were like this right now, is that we just took over this hotel, and as a hotel it was confusing, because it had shared shower and bathroom units. More shared units than private bathroom units, so when people came to check out the hotel, they wanted their own bathroom/shower, which is a normal amenity at any hotel. We changed the name to hostel and kept the same rooms in place, we haven't purchased any bunk beds yet, but we will, there still a lot of common areas and shared bathrooms.
This place is going to be a hostel, and we wanted to get that idea across now. What we'll do is place a few bunks into the private-bathroom units, so that it's a dorm style with a connected bathroom unit. We'll be rolling out these rooms as we renovate and repaint each one, right now 20 is the only one that's been painted, and it's ready for two bunk beds as soon as we need them. We have some reservations for the room as it is still pending, and summer is almost over, so once the off season hits we'll have a little time to actually be able to do something to this place.
Didn't want the wrong idea to come across, we're not just changing the name to sound more youthful or to trick our guests, we're just believers of call yourself what you believe yourself to be, and you will be what you be.

I think in 5 years you'll be able to rightfully use the word "hostel" in the name of your establishment. Until then, you're just misleading your guests and piggy backing on hostel owners marketing ingenuity and current media hype. Is there even a community kitchen? Looking at the web page, it's not even close to what a hostel is.
Even your guests comment: The hotel was located within walking distance...
...taken care of this hotel.
In a few weeks I'll be staying at the Jane in NYC. Shared bathrooms. No dorms. Still called a hotel, not a hostel.

upon further discovery, we've realized we're actually a Hostal at the moment, even if we're not in Spain, here in CA isn't much different.
We stayed at a hostel in Madrid, that was a hotel, but listed as a hostel, I know what you're talking about there, we are more of a premium hostel, so for the time we could go with the term hostal. In all honesty, we feel we're more of a hostal than anything else. check out the wiki here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hostal
