Introduction - Steve

Hi,
My name is Steve, an Anglo-Australian currently residing in SW France. I've been interested in opening a backpackers close to where I am currently living in the Basque country [5 mins from Biarritz] although finding a suitable, vacant or available property at under a trillion dollars is somewhat elusive. Consequently, I would happily undertake financial [and operational, if necessary] partners to turn the concept into reality as I am sure the thing would fly.
If anyone knows anyone already in the area feel free to ship them my details or me theirs so we can get in touch.
The Basque country offers huge potential and there are only 2 backpackers in the region and what camping facilities used to exist are gradually being sold off to make way for more apartments and 5 star hotel facilities - which we obviously need, [NOT]!
Have travelled extensively across 5 continents and seen a lot of good, bad and indifferent backpackers along the way so have some ideas of what I would like to see in place. Never worked in one however, so lack that technical aspect but with 21 years business experience, I'm a fast learner.
Anyway, I have read a lot of great advice on this site.... some guy 'Aboriginalbackpacker' {or name similar}, always contributing his/her extensive knowledge and experience very generously, so hopefully I can learn some of the ropes whilst I continue my search.
I hope my dream is realised.....
