Roadside Banners
Just wanted to share some personal experience about some banners we purchased. We had the luck have having an awesome "Tinker's Station" sign out front when we bought our property, though there was no indication of what we were going to do. We decided to get two banners telling the world we were making a hostel and giving our web address and our internet traffic spiked a couple of hundred hits for the next few days!
Obviously this might not sound like much for some of the bigger hostels, but for a small little startup in a town of 100, it felt pretty good. Here's a few pictures of the banners (covered in a bit of snow):

Looks like it's time for management to start shovelling. The ski resorts must be happy?

Interesting how different the weather is just a few hours away. It has been raining every day down here in the East Bay...

Hahaha... I am management, and the sign is under about 15 feet of snowpack (at least).
Here's a pic to put that into perspective (the view from our 2nd story deck):
It may be hard to see, but the burm that's blocking the view of the store across the street is about 15' - 20' tall, and the thing on the right hand side is the top of the sign sticking out. There's no way I'd be able to dig it out for people to see... Oh well!

It's still snowing... I think we actually might get snowed in! I shoveled the deck and stairs this morning at around 5:30 or so, and there's already another 3" - 4" piled up. My poor Subaru is going to be buried! :(

snowed in would actually be a really bad thing too, because we're supposed to drive down to Nevada City to talk with the county about use permits at around 11 or so.
