Hi I'm Shaun, I'm 21, I come from South West Wales near a town called Tenby. I enjoy meeting new people and heading to partys with my mates. I am currently working as a prep chef on a couple of army barracks and im hopeing to use my skills to take me abroad as I've only just got a passport and would love to see the world. I'm easy going and can get on with just about everyone. My mates say im crazy (I think thats a good thing lol) so if i sound like someone youd like to get to know or even if you could help and give me some advise it would be appreciated.

Hi Shuan, Being a cook myself I can tell you that is a very handy skill to have when traveling. Some Hostels have attached cafes, and finding/retaining a trained cook is not easy, this could help you find jobs as you travel around. Have fun and party, but don't forget to be professional and reliable when on the job. Are you thinking about making a career out of this line of work, or want to wait and see what the future brings? Either way it will be a good experience.

Hi, yea i'd like to make a career out of cooking and if i can do this while traveling even better. I've never been out of the uk and now that i have my passport im looking for any oportunity to see the world. I think of myself as reliable and professional as well as a bit of a party animal but i play hard and work harder lol. thanks for the advise and if you have any more advise that would be helpfull, thanks.

Yachts are another place to get cooking work while on the road. In 1999 I got a cooking job on an 80' sailboat to sail around the world for 3 years. The boat turned out to be extremely sketchy, and I had to hop off in Mexico after a month, but there are better yachts out there... and either way it's a good adventure :)
There are a lot of sailboats in the Mediterranean in the summer.
