We are considering selling one of our hostel/guesthouse properties to work on a new project. We have a fun and friendly successful business running, making many people happy worldwide, and we want to see that continue, even if we sell our interests and move on to our next project.
If we can't find the right buyer that will continue our business with that sort of care and love, we won't sell.
Well-located - in Chaweng, the main area of Koh Samui, with the best long, beautiful beach on the island, the most businesses, nightlife and travelers. We are within a few minutes walk from the beach, surrounded by local food, markets, shops, and massage, and an easy walk to all nightlife.
Large - a total of about 50 beds, with 11 rooms total: 6 small dorms, 2 large dorms, one private room with ensuite, one private room with shared bathroom, and a budget double bed space, very popular with backpacking couples. 8 bathrooms -all with shower and hot water, 2 recently built, plus 2 beautiful new shower-only rooms. A total of 10 balconies and plenty of shared public space. We also have public coin laundry machines (popular amongst locals, so bringing in revenue), 2 full kitchens, and storage space. Plenty of tables, chairs and couches for guests to lounge or to run a full cafe or restaurant.
Popular - a crowd favorite, known for it's casual and friendly atmosphere, and providing basic but comfortable facilities. During the slowest seasons we struggle like all businesses, but during regular season the business easily pays for itself, and during high seasons the profits can be HUGE.
Turnkey - Business is fully solvent, in good standing with all landlords, utilities, booking sites, booking systems and all our friendly neighbors. You would take over control of several booking sites (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Hostelbookers, etc.), Facebook pages, plus web-based software to maintain inventory control and pricing with channel management (so when a booking is made on one site, the bed is removed from all other sites to prevent overbooking; it also allows you to adjust pricing on all websites quickly with just one screen). Sale includes all beds, mattresses, pillows, pillowcases, sheets, custom made light blankets (our guests love them for being lightweight and cool, and they wash & dry easily), furniture, kitchen appliances, tools and utensils, refrigerators and display cooler, washing machines, 4 large water tanks, TVs, DVD player, stereo, etc etc.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the tourism and hospitality industry here in Samui, or someone looking to expand their business. We are more than happy to train onsite and spend several weeks transitioning with the new owners to make sure they are comfortable and successful. One thing we LOVE about Samui is that the hospitality industry here is rarely cut-throat and generally supportive of each other. This hostel has grown substantially in the last few years when it was started with 11 beds as a casual business to bring in a little spare cash. It is now a large running business capable of generating solid profits for anyone dedicated to investing in it. I personally believe that you have to be passionate about travel to be most successful in this business, so I hope any potential future owner will bring their love of backpacking and traveling to this property with the same passion and sincere caring for the guests and for travelers in general.
