The Global Village Hostel in San Francisco burned yesterday afternoon. The hostel had been unoccupied since June and no one was injured.
A four-alarm fire smoldered in the attic of a three-story building at Fifth and Harrison streets in San Francisco before exploding through the roof this afternoon, sending up a plume of black smoke and causing extensive damage to a 45-room hostel that was being renovated.
