Just days away from November, I’m sure many of us are are scratching our heads, thinking “When did that happen??” For many of you coming off high season, now is the time to breathe. You did it! And now with all of your extra free time (ha), you can check out HostelManagement’s awesome upcoming features!
First thing up is the next HostelManagement.com Unconference! It will be taking place 23-25 Novemeber in Frankfurt, Germany. There is still time to sign up. Unsure of what an Unconference entails? Check out our info and register here! The overall idea is to engage in collaborative discussion among hostel owners and managers, in an effort to strengthen the industry from within rather than simply compete. Check out this 2 minute highlight video from the last Unconference in Madrid!
Panel Discussions will also be starting back up again in November, after taking a short break during the end of a busy summer. These online discussions are a wonderful way to gain insight, help, and advice from fellow hostel owners or managers. You can see our most recent one on time savers & wasters here. What types of discussion topics would you find the most helpful? Are you interested in participating as a speaker? Either way, please shoot me an email so we can include you or your ideas! Lastly, soon (hopefully very soon!) HostelManagement.com 2.0 will launch. Our site absolutely needed technical upgrades and improved user experience, which is where the majority of our focus has been the last few months. We have been working feverishly to accomplish this monumental task (the site now hosts over 17,000 members and 30,000 forum posts!), and we’re almost there.
We also know that we've had less contact with many of you during this time. It has been difficult to keep up normal communication with both members, partners and potential partners. For instance, although we have been getting advertising and partnership queries, we haven't been able to follow through as regularly.
We are a very small team, but we are trying to be dedicated to each of you while giving the best service and support that our resources will allow. It is hard to compete with venture capital, but we are striving to maintain independence so that we can be committed to YOU- the hostel owners and managers everywhere. So, while our focus has been on completing this new platform, we look forward to re-engaging with the community of hostel professionals in an even more effective way very soon.
Thanks for your patience with the continual journey and growth of HostelManagement.com.
Stay tuned for more great features headed your way!
