This year we've seen a higher proportion of domestic travellers staying in our hostel - that's not to say that international travellers aren't important, just that now the balance has shifted and more Chinese people seem to be travelling independently.
As you say that Jiujiang is not a place where many overseas travellers visit, it's important to think about two things:
Why? Is it because the area is an unknown beauty spot full of treasures and surprises for travellers, or is it because it doesn't have the infrastructure or points of interest to attract visitors?
The second thing is what might make people want to go there - google Moganshan near Shanghai and you'll find a whole range of places to stay (none of them quite in the hostel bracket or price range) all with innovative business models and offering quiet retreats to tempt people to make the sometimes long journey from neighbouring cities. Would your place be a suitable place for a language school (immersing foreign travellers in Mandarin and Cantonese classes)? How about a retreat? Perhaps an artists' paradise?
The idea of a rundown building in disrepair is hugely appealing and romantic - but I that if you haven't already, you carry out a very thorough feasibility study of the area - what could the space be used for and is there a market for it?

Thank for getting back to me. I have one fast question and a straight one.
Where can I borrow or loan to buy a small hostel that already exist? Any recommendation? I plan to buy one in The Philippines, but I lived in the California USA, but I want this, because an old man wants to sell it to me. Make a very nice investment. Your thoughts!

Quick answer - I don't know.
I work for a Chinese company - so I didn't organise the finances for the place I work.
I would suggest a bank! Or, depending on your own skills and experience and the skills and experience of others you can access easily, setting up a small group of investors. You need a good lawyer for this option though.

I see. That's okay. Bank might be the answer, but they like collateral. But it's worth a try.

Hi Peter,
I taught English in Jiujiang for 3 months recently, I didnt see a single western face in all that time, and i really cant imagine why anyone would visit. Are you planning to aim the hostel at Chinese nationals?
The Philippine idea sounds good though, meant to be very up and coming. Very interested to learn how your plans are progressing,
