G'day...
Hope I didn't push too many buttons and start a new thread without meaning to, but look I'm old and I got a bit confused along the way there :o
I put together a sorta lengthy profile - if you're interested.

Nothing to volunteer here as I'm simply observing an exciting period in my son's life as he flits from place to place as a backpacker and for Jeffro, it seems, there's never a dull moment.
I reckon he might have a future in the business.
Myself, I never left Oz - no interest in traveling.
That may soon change!

Would you lot permit a 60 year old newbie to stay in the same premises?

No worries, mate!

The oldest backpacker we had was 75 years when he was staying with us...

Also, we are an independent hostel so we don't have to keep any restrictions what the HI does... We can literally do what we want! :)

I think as long as you are young in mind you can be counted as young, otherwise you wouldn't want to stay in hostels anyway, so your are more than welcomed to be our guest in our hostel any time! ;)

People of all ages stay at hostels. At the hostels I've worked at there was no age limit. There were occasionally guests in their 70s and 80s...

"Junior member" is just a temporary title until you make 10 posts. Then it changes to "member".

I'm still a Junior member and I've posted at least 10 or more posts already. Hmm... Anyway, I've seen a few older folks at hostels I've stayed at but never spoken to any because they seem to keep to themselves and do their own thing.

I believe this is the first New Kids on the Block reference we have had on Hostelmanagement. Welcome to the new low. I expect great things in the near future though, because there's absolutely nowhere to go but up from here.:D
