Greetings from beautiful British Columbia, Canada
I have been reading the threads from this forum for a few weeks now and decided to join. I have noticed there is a wealth of knowledge and experience here.
In my younger days, I was fortunate to visit many countries in Central and South America and travel quite in style on just a few hundred dollars. The concept of trading our labor or skill while we traveled allowed us to pay as we went. Even in countries where we had a severe language barrier (I don't speak any Portuguese and my Spanish was limited) we were able to earn our way by simply making a few friends.
I am retired from the mainstream travel and tour industry and have taken on the responsibility of remote winter access for several operations: - including hostel style lodges for ski 'bums' & cross country ski touring enthusiasts; transport for an Eco-tourism mountain hostel; supply to hunting camps; and search & rescue support. We operate several snow cats from 4 passenger for the delivery and service applications to 10 passenger snow bus style machines.
I hope to see the opportunity to contribute from time to time.
Cheers, Ian.
