Programming a Hostel PMS
Hi,
my name is Martin. I have been working in the Hostel and Hotel industry since 2005.
- from 2003-2009 I was studying Economics and Informatics (Major subjects: Software Development and IT-Security)
- in 2005 I started working in the Brook Lane Hostel in Regensburg Germany.
- In the same year I started developing my PMS called Loventis
- In 2009-2011 I worked for hotel.de / hotel.info as a Software Developer in the Web-services department (hotel.de API)
- Since mid 2011 I am working full time on my PMS and have connected it via Myallocator to all major Hostel-Channels.
I have received very positive feedback about my software from around the world and am interested in new users, feedback and ideas.
I am looking forward to hear from you,
Martin

Hi Martin,
I have gone through from your site loventis and its looks cool. One thing i want to recommend to you, are you ever tried any cloud based property management system?
Have a look at Hotelogix - Cloud Based Hotel Property Management System they offer 15 days free trial with a lot features like Multi-property Support, Multi-currency support, housekeeping, report generation, CRS, GDS and distribution system.

Hey Loventis this is a great concept. I'd be careful though as there are a ton of great property management systems out there serving the market. Many of them are extremely well funded and staffed so you'll want to make sure from day 1 you are focusing on your unique selling proposition (USP). What makes your PMS different? etc. A good starting point is to look at what features the top rated property management systems for hotels have today and then find areas where there are gaps that you can fill. You can also read reviews from hostel managers about things they wish they had in given software to ensure that you build yours properly. Hope that helps and best of luck!
