I'm planning an hostel.... and i have this idea.... i don't know if it looks craisy... a hostel for families. The idea was to have 3 rooms designed to have a couple a 2 or 3 kids. Of course it had to be a non smoking and a non craisy hostel... but i wish i could create the fun spirit... creating programs that could envolve everyone. So the parents could meet new people so the kids. What do you thing? Ok..... too many children screaming... maybe not! If i nmake it happen it'll be a small hostel for no more than 16 persons.

That's an interesting idea. Would it have dorms (a hostel) or just private rooms (guesthouse)?

Very glad for your opinion. Thanks a lot for the idea. I'd like a lot to talk to as much people as i can about the idea. I 'd really like to manage something that is a guest house and an hostel in the same time... something that could be different. Not sure a room just for kids would work, so maybe bank beds for parents and kids. I think kids would love it! They would be the important ones... no smoking, no craisy people... but a lot of fun! Is this just a dream?

I think the idea could work. Many hostels are family friendly. You could have specific family rooms with a double bed for the parents and bunk beds for the kids. Or simply give the family a dorm room to themselves and refrain from putting other people in it. That way if you don’t have a family you can still fill it with backpackers. That might be a good option for you due to your limited space. Having an outdoor area for the children to play would be nice too, assuming that you have the room.
You could open up a debate about whether or not backpackers and children can mix effectively. Personally, I don’t like staying in hostels with children, especially if they’re running around and screaming with insufficient parental supervision. That doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with having the kids there. It just means that I would not be your target market.
Do you have any children of your own? If you do, they can get involved in the operation of the hostel as well. Having your own kids there to play with might help the travelling children to feel comfortable and have more fun.
