Hey all,
I'm setting out on a road trip from Springfield, MO to Portland, OR and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for hostels to visit during my road trip. I'm wanting to connect, collaborate, and build community in the industry more than anything. I'm likely to go to San Fran and head up the coast as this is a route that is most frequented by my guests in Portland. Plus, this gives me an excuse to see the Pacific Tradewinds Hostel. Any other suggestions for USA west coast based trendsetting amazing hostels out there that are considered innovative?

Yes! Can't wait to have you at Pacific Tradewinds, Grant! Off the top of my head: Depending on your route I would stop by to see Amber and Ali at Camel Backpackers in Phoenix. Grand Canyon International Hostel in Flagstaff is a nice cozy stay. You should definitely meet Worthy and check out the Bivvi in Breckenridge hostel/lodge if you are near there at all. Chandler at Hostel Cat in Vegas, or Jason at Sin City Hostel in Vegas are both great to talk to, too. Have a blast!

Awww thank you Courtney! I've really got to get to San Francisco soon as Amber is always singing Pacific Tradewinds' praises.
And Grant we'd love for you to stop over here in Phoenix. Been poking around the Travelers' House website this morning (what beautiful facilities! especially digging the cactus in the common room ;)) and would be great to chat more and connect in person if Phoenix fits your route. Thanks Courtney for all the suggestions...I am going to head southward due to weather so I think Colorado may be out of the question. Ali, I sent you a PM and look forward to potentially meeting you as I think I can swing Phoenix as the Sonoran desert is truly another heart chakra for me as I went to college in lovely AZ and will always consider it a home :love:
