Hello everybody! Just introducing myself here. I'm from Amish country, Pennsylvania, USA and am moving on from my current job. I'm looking for opportunities in the hostel world (since I am a frequent traveler and hostel patron). If anybody would like somebody with hiring/training/management/event planning experience, I'm your guy!
Thanks,
Evan

Hey Brian!
Thanks so much! Please let me know if there's anything I can do to get the ball rolling on working in a great hostel :)

If you already have a good idea of what you think makes for a great hostel, just start posting in the forum. Ask questions if you have them, and share your own thoughts. Use this community as a sounding board for your ideas and a way to test some of your theories and see what kind of results other hostels have had using similar methods. You may get lucky and a hostel owner may read your posts and say, "that's exactly what I want to do in my hostel, if I only had someone good to help me make it happen!"
There are lots of people who say they know what it takes to make a hostel great. People who state their thoughts outright along with the steps to take to implement those ideas and put them into practice are far fewer and far more valuable for a prospective employer.

And the easiest way to find a job in a hostel is to be on the road and staying in hostels. If you're going to be in town and you can sit down for a face to face chat with the owner or manager, then you stand a much higher chance of getting hired than you would by simply sending out your CV.
