Rapunzel Guest House & Café is centrally located in the hip area of Istanbul, "Galata", offering a budget hostel next to the famous Galata Tower. Istiklal Street, Beyoglu (pedesterian, nightlife, and shopping area) is 5 min away, Sultanahmet (old city) area is also 5 min away by tram.

The nearest metro station is 2 min, tram and bus stops are 3 min walking distance away from our beloved hostel. It is a place at the heart of the city offering you unforgettable beauty of Istanbul.

We, as three close friends who refuse to become grownups, have decided to create a place for cultural conjunction in hip area of Istanbul, Galata (old Genoesean center of Istanbul). So we are waiting for people all around the world to create an environment that encompasses divergent cultures; a place where not any culture dominates over the others.

The space is formed by the idea of diy (do-it-yourself); this attitude is reflected to bathrooms, common areas, to even the kitchen stuff and is a tribute to amateurism. The building is over 150 years old and has been recently refurbished. This beautiful building gives the chance not just to see Istanbul's history but also to sleep in it! Our beloved rooms are spacious, brick-walled, clean and they all have private bathrooms, lockers, vanity mirrors, headlights for every guest and curtains for bunk beds.

This building was designed at 1872 by the architect Salvatore Flori, as a family building that had been lived in Galata area for over five decades. After the years of occupancy of Ottoman Empire, the family was departed to USA.

Our building is one structure of three corner building complex which was facing the historical fountain that is now standing at Galata Tower Square. Each floor was constructed in the same utilization conception to be used by some number of the family members. Just before Rapunzel Guesthouse & Café, only the first floor of the building was used as a tea house by the native folk.

The building is recently refurbished by being faithful to its authenticity; fireside aspiration systems are preserved in bathrooms in each floor, in common areas brick walls were unearthed. Although our guesthouse is situated in the hip area of Istanbul, Galata; it suprises by the tranquility of its neighborhood.

At the beginning of 2000s, after almost a century gap, Galata area has became the crowd shot area and thus became the city's cultural, art, and entertainment center again.
