Backpacker Hostel
The Backpack is South Africa’s original backpacker established in 1990. We are an award winning, Fair Trade hostel that invests in people and communities, giving meaningful and relaxed, travel experiences.
We empower our employees with life changing skills, they become stakeholders in our business and actively play a bigger role in rolling out our vision and are accountable in keeping the values alive that are the trademark of our business, as well as taking part in our community projects.
The Backpack accommodates 100 people in 15 room types which are all individually styled. We have all the facilities you can expect from an urban hip hostel. We offer free continental breakfasts & Fibre Optic WiFi throughout the hostel.
We offer our guests excellent service and support through a wide range of tour operators; offering our guests the opportunity to practice responsible tourism in Cape Town and South Africa.
