Lagan Backpackers in Belfast is for sale. I had the business listed as for sale in January and had lots of interest but decided last minute to stay on another year before selling as the business is really maturing and coming into its own.
As the hostel business goes if you don’t enjoy what you do anymore its time to get out and do something different. I considered employing a manager on a profit share basis but dismissed the idea as even that would be hard to manage from South Africa. With 5 year lease available with the option to renew
Lagan is a 60 bed hostel with 6 showers and bathrooms. A single room for staf,
The hostel have a l living room, dining room and 2 kitchens and a laundry room and a small under roof smoking area

Lagan is now 4 years old and rated very highly on both hostelbookers and hostelworld. Right now our ratings are the lowest it has been in 4 years(86% hostelworld and 90.5% on hostelbookers) As I don’t put as much effort as I did before there is plenty of room for emprovement for a good motivated manager
The asking price can be recouped after just one year if managed well. Because I know banks don’t finance hostels I am willing to consider owner finance with a deposit to protect me
