A New Hostel Experience by Alaskan Outdoor Enthusiasts
Base Camp Anchorage hostel provides accommodations to international and domestic travelers visiting Alaska. Our hostel is run by world travelers focused on creating a diverse community and positive social exchange. We enjoy exploring Alaska's backcountry and sharing advice on favorite hikes and things to do.
All of our dorm rooms are 4 beds per room to allow a more comfortable living area and we offer one private room with a queen-sized bed. Amenities include free breakfast with organic coffee, oatmeal, and pancakes. Bicycle rentals are available at our hostel where you have easy access to the famous coastal trail. A recently added wood burning cedar sauna and our spacious backyard is a highlight with guests that allow hikers and bicyclists to organize gear.
We are located in mid-town Anchorage, walking distance to grocery stores and outdoor gear shops like REI and Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking. From our door, you are less than a five minute walk to cafés, restaurants, and live music! If you are flying in to Anchorage, our hostel is less than 15 minutes away by taxi and 20 minutes by bus. Late check-in's can be arranged if you are arriving after 11pm with advanced notice.
Our hostel is open seasonally from May to September.
4 bed dorms (Female or mixed)
Private room: queen size bed (1 to 2 people)

Our hostel is tailored for travelers visiting Alaska. We have a 5 night maximum stay. Contact us ahead of time of you would like to stay longer than 5 days. Alaska is a large state and many sights require staying overnight in other towns. Visit our “Things To Do Tab” for information on itineraries and places to visit.
We are a community driven hostel. We enjoy good conversations but we are not a party hostel. Our quiet hours begin at 11pm.
Guests must own an international passport or major credit card. You can pay in cash upon arrival or use your credit card with a $2 processing fee.
Cancellations require 48 hours advanced notice. You will be charged the first nights stay if your reservation is not cancelled within 48 hours of the arrival date.
No children 12 or under, ages 13-17 yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
