It's been a long time coming but it's finally happening. Our development team is now doing a complete rebuild of the entire HostelManagement.com site.
As we all know, HostelManagement in it's current form has run it course.
The technology that runs the site is tired, dated and it’s increasingly difficult to keep out the spammers, scammers and trolls. As it turns out, we've done as much as we can with the current technology and incremental changes were simply not possible anymore using the existing platform.
For a site that literally has no revenue to speak of, it was a hard pill to swallow. But our small team is so passionate, and so committed, about what's possible for our industry, that we have committed the time and money to launch HostelManagement.com to a new era. In the coming weeks you will see a new fresher look for the site, but that's only the start. With new technology "under the hood", we'll be able to develop a lot of new innovative features to help our hostels and facilitate cooperation throughout our industry.
This is where you come in. We all know there's a lot to be done in our industry to make hostelling awesome. But how do YOU want HostelManagement.com to be part of it? Sure, we have our own in-house ideas and plans for the site, but with over 14,000 members, I'm absolutely certain some of you have some ideas that are better than ours - quite possibly a lot better. We have just launched the first of several surveys that will determine how we prioritize the development of new features on the site. You can access it here.
