The hostel market in the US has grown by one more with the opening of the HI Richmond Hostel in Virginia.
Richmond’s first hostel puts out welcome mat for regional, global visitors
Housed in a building with a storied past–it first served as the home of Otis Elevator, and was later a state-run women’s penitentiary–the hostel offers an alternative to out-of-town visitors looking not only for a cheaper place to stay, but one where they can connect with other travelers.
The 55-bed hostel opened for travelers at the end of August, and they have been going strong since days one.
It’s really encouraging to see more hostels popping up around the US.
