We are looking at creating a booking module for a new website (backpackers.co). We would like our community to book hostels through our website. Our community is currently booking around 100 bookings a day on different websites but they are currently paying booking fees.
We have looked at becoming an affiliate for HostelBookers and HostelWorlds, but we would like to avoid any booking fees charged to the backpackers as this is not our model.
How could we get hostels in our inventory? We need a few good quality hostels in about 80 cities in the world (that would cover 95% of our bookings). Do we need to work with a Channel Manager like myAllocator? SiteMinder?
Do we need to provide an interface on our website for hostels to register and then manage availability/rates?
We have customers, but no current booking solutions, so we are open to any suggestions...

Hi Philippe,
An interface where hostels could load their prices and availability would work well. Once this is set up, creating an API for channel managers would make it even easier for many hostel properties to allocate beds to your site.
