Local Productive Arrangements to Strengthen the Hostel Movement
This Booking .com competition is pretty cool

Has anyone seen any of the hashtag campaign Booking started to promote the everyday heroes in hospitality? #BookingHero
The idea is that people can praise the service professionals who went out of their way to make their trip memorable by posting their stories on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with the hashtag #BookingHero.
It happens millions of times a day and in every corner of the globe—a front desk manager helps arrange a last-minute proposal on the beach or an apartment owner drives a family to the airport after their taxi doesn’t show up so that they don’t miss their flight. These extraordinary hospitality gestures have a ripple effect across our industry and are the cornerstone of what makes travel meaningful and unique. To celebrate the exceptional personal contributions these individuals make on a daily basis, Booking.com is launching the Booking Heroes competition with a chance for one hospitality professional to win €25,000 to spend on Booking.com.
I haven’t actually seen the hashtag being used in any of my circles, and the deadline for submission is 30 November. In hostels we provide this kind of service every day, so the idea really struck home with me, even if their competition ends soon.
It seems like we could promote this idea among hostel guests. Not because there is some big prize to be won, but because we really do go out of our way day-in and day-out, and our guests really do appreciate it. It would be nice to showcase how amazing the service level can be in hostels.
What do you think of staring our own hashtag and spreading the trend? Maybe #HostelHero or a different hashtag?
