Hi! Welcome to Dreamcatcher Hostel, Golden, B.C!
My husband and I bought the town strip bar last March and opened our doors to travellers on June 19th after extensive renovations (and the auction of the pole....). Our first year has been amazing and confirmed we are doing the right thing - so many wonderful people have passed through our doors and we have made many firm friends.
Dreamcatcher has seven rooms - two private en-suite (for couples), two private en-suite (for families/groups up to 6) and three en-suite dorms (sleeping 6, 4 & 4). At a push we can sleep 30 but generally we are full with around 24.
The hostel is our home too so in some respects is like a b&b but sharing our kitchen with guests and chatting over supper is part of the fun for us.
Golden is a hub for outdoor activities in the area - Kicking Horse Resort is 15 minutes away with skiing/snowboarding through the winter and mountain biking all summer. Hiking in the parks (Banff, Yoho, Glacier) is a short drive away and people travel from all over the world to jump off Mount Seven and paraglide the thermals of the Columbia Valley and raft the Kicking Horse river.
Golden was crying out for clean, affordable accomodation and we have been busier than we even hoped to be since last June. We work 17 hour days but it is the best job in the world!
