Hi everyone, I'm opening a small hostel in Ukraine (4 bunk beds + 1 private room) and am wondering where I should look for staff to run the hostel on a daily basis. My understanding is that I'm looking for an open-minded young person who has traveled a bit herself and is familiar with the concept of hostels.
Would "convential" methods like job websites work, or should I dig deeper and perhaps contact local Couch Surfers etc.? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks Josh, great stuff! Not sure if there's a lot of Ukrainians visiting those pages, but hey, I don't have to limit myself to locals!

maybe you do... in Brazil at least 2/3 of your stuff MUST be nationals. And to contract foreigners is not that easy, there are a lot of fees, and normally you get foreigners working illegally in hostels in exchange for accommodation... take care with the laws of your country, it might cost you a lot in the end.

You're totally right, it's much more complicated than what it looked like in the beginning. Things would be easier if Ukraine was in the EU, but alas, we ended up hiring locals.
