We are not currently sending out a follow-up email, but I think we will start. I have spoken with many hostels who do, and they tell me that it is effective. I'm sorry that I don't have specific numbers to give you to support that claim. :(
I would like to hear experiences from hostels that have implemented a follow-up-email protocol requesting guests or reminding them to review the property after their stay. How effective are these emails to increase review quantity?

We do that 10 days. I don's see any results till now, but anyway, I think it is good to notice about yourself to your guests.

I think it is particularly important to sent follow up reminders to guests that you are sure enjoyed your hostel and had a great time. Those are the reviews that you really don't want to miss out on.

What can we do to get a review when a guest comes directly from our website, since HW and Booking.com dont allow ppl that didnt booked with them to write reviews

Your guests can still write Google reviews, TripAdvisor reviews, or Yelp reviews regardless of how they booked.
