we had regular noise complaints and police visits... but there were a few really bad instances... (hostel was in hollywood)
my first night working at the hostel 2 drunk guys were in the back parkinglot banging on windows screaming at guests, they lives across the street. we called the cops, I led them to the back and the 2 drunk guys got beligerant, the cops pulled out their guns and shouted at the men to get their hands on the car... I was in blood spatter range... the guy got pretty damn close before he backed off... scary...
the other one... someone OD in one of the rooms, and when the cops were there my drunken co worker started shouting "im the one you want, i fuckin did it, i killed all those f******" which led to the cops questioning us about our co worker.. luckily they never asked for any of the staffs work visas... :/
There was a bomb scare at the kodak theater (next to us) during the emmy awards and the whole place got locked down by a shitload of swat... we were definitely in blast range... false alarm tho...
The last was a strange story... a 16 year old checked in with some guy, he was quite and just hung out at the hostel all day waiting for the dude to come get him each afternoon, so we felt bad and took him with us to the beach and stuff, really nice kid, good sense of humor... a few months later i get a call from a detective, turns out he stole his folks car, drove 10 hours to LA, ditched the car in a parking lot, and was hanging out with some dude he met on the net... i never even suspected anything and i spent time with him... and i consider myself to be very observant... :/
anywho... good old hostels... :)
