HI-Harpers Ferry Hostel Opens for 2010 Season:

Knoxville, MD- The Harpers Ferry Hostel will open April 15, 2010. Come enjoy the lazy days of summer with us and see for yourself all the fantastic changes that have recently been made to the facilities and operations! A new season schedule and user friendly hours accompany two new private rooms, new guest laundry machines, and more than a few fresh coats of paint! Come and see us at the end of May to lounge around outside in our new screened in camping pavilion!

The hostel is open from April 15, 2010 until October 15, 2010. From April 15th until May 28th, and from September 8th until October 15th, the hostel will be open each day from 7am to 10am and 5pm to 10pm. From May 29th to September 7th, the hostel will be open all day with no day time lockout from 7am to 10pm. The 34 bed facility can be rented out for groups, families, retreats and fundraisers for only $450.00 per night! Hikers and cyclists can take advantage of the hiker and biker package for $22 per night, which includes all membership fees, pancake breakfast, dinner, laundry, and package handling. Dorm rates start at $18 per person. Camping rates start at $10 per person.

Each year during the spring and summer months, the hostel hosts thousands of hikers, cyclists, groups and recreational travelers on their way through the Appalachian Trail, the C & O Tow Path and the local historic towns of Brunswick and Harpers Ferry. Hostels offer basic, short term accommodation with cooking facilities and comfortable common spaces. HI-Harpers Ferry is run by the Potomac Area Council of Hostelling International USA, a non profit organization promoting cross cultural understanding and environmental awareness through 60 hostels across the country.
