There is an update on Coldingham hostel here:

Excerpt:
"We are already hearing reports of a fall off in local business. It's easy to see why - by about this time of year the hostel would normally expect to be having up to 200 overnight stays every week. These people (especially the larger parties) now have nowhere to stay in the area. The £50 per night spend calculated by Visit Scotland is (for the time being) lost to the area. That is £10,000 per week gone from our local economy, by mid-summer the shortfall will be closer to £15,000 per week; this will be depressing the local economy now and must already be costing jobs. We desperately need this income back in our communities to maintain jobs and services."

On Saturday, May 3, The Community Company, a not-for-profit company, is organising a grand plant sale and coffee morning in Coldingham Village Hall (10am -12.30pm) which will provide an opportunity both for people to learn more about the project and to raise funds to support the bid.
