Já descobri qual é a portaria: 517/2008, de 25 de Junho, estabelece os requisitos mínimos a observar pelos estabelecimentos de alojamento local.À falta de melhor, esta é a legislação a observar para os Hostels.

Hi from what i know regulation in Portugal changed last year.
Does any one can give me some hints about meeting requirements and laws or some steps you need to do to start a hostel.

hi maria, could you please specify what does the 517/2008 says or where can i find the complete text? I've got no problem understanding written portuguese so i don't really need an english translation :)

Hi Maria,
Saw your post earlier, hope you don't mind me picking your brains with a few queries a have.
I have found a great building in the center of Lisbon to set up a hostel, and im hoping to get things ready for the end of August.
Any idea on the expenses regarding electricity bills and gas, it will be a 40 bed business.
Please get back to me as at present i don't have a clue.
