We do not have dedicated tour desk staff, but our staff do sell tours when time permits.
And, we pay them 20% of the commission we receive.
So, if we sell a $200 tour and the hostel gets a 30% commission of $60, then we will giv ethe staff member 20% of that - $12.
I am thinking of changing this structure to be more appealing to staff.
- increase the share of the commossion to 30%
- increase the share of the commission to 40% once they reach a threshold of say $750 tours in a month
I woudl be interested in hearing what do others do?
