How much more expensive would you be than the other hostels in the city? How much is a budget hotel room in that city?

Hi all, I see that some cities have some huge hostels, but no small ones.
I have in mind to open a small place with only 12 beds (if I want to let more people stay, regulations are crazy in Germany, and I also don't want to invest too much at the beginning)
How do you see the market right now - I have the impression, because I am also getting older :-), that mature people also like to stay in small hostel if they travel by themselves, for the communication and the better price.
I also guess they would invest some more Euros to have a safe, clean and style place, too. (somewhere between 30-40 Euro)
What are your thoughts?
Do you agree?
Would you see the big young hostels as a competition?
Do you also have ideas about the occupany rate at smaller hostels?

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Well. depends on the season, but the huge ones have dorms between 19 and 28 Euros. Those are the party hostels, no kitchen.
I am planning to have a great kitchen/common room, a rooftop terrace, with massage, cosmetics, yoga, 2 bathrooms for up to 12 people, and my price would be 28 up to 36 Euro.....
But do you see generally the upcoming trend, that there are more mature poeple with other needs than the paty crowd?
What do you think?

I think that could work really well for you. Carve out your own niche and make the best hostel you can for your chosen clientele. MANY travelers have no interest in the party scene, and like you said, they probably have more money to invest in their accommodation. Just because they have the money doesn't mean that they want a hotel. Mature travelers like to socialize too, and the hostel environment is just the place for that. I say go for it!

I really appreciate your thought - I mean, I am 100% behind my idea, because I think and travel like this too - but you never know.
Yeah, if I will get my "green lights" from the object I saw and the government - I will go for it!
