Hello!
We are about to run a small hostel with only 3 rooms. Because the rooms are a bit upscale, we thought we could reach the right type of customers through a site like hostelworld. Thinking about it, we keep running into questions. What if we have only one room available, would we have to check our inbox for bookings anytime someone walks in? What about bookings in the future, would you have to tell everybody beforehand there is a reservation on that room in, say, 3 weeks? What if internet is down for a day (or two?). What if we get bookings scattered through the coming months? What about high season, can we block reservations for that time? etc. etc.
We understand many hostels 'reserve' some of their rooms for online bookings. We have only 3 rooms! On Hostelworld's website there is no information for hostel owners about how it works. I have been contacted by them now, so info should be on its way, but i thought it would be nice if someone with experience could comfort us a little bit. Is it a smart thing to do?
Thanks a lot for your help!
